- One of the most important issues after the implant is brushing teeth. Hard movements should be avoided while brushing the teeth. Teeth should be brushed as gently and slowly as possible. After brushing, you can gargle with salt water.
- Smoking should not be allowed after the implant procedure. Smokers should never smoke without asking their doctor.
Dental implant types differ according to the patient’s jawbone and the use of supporting tissue. There are many different types of implants available today. These are divided into 5 groups: Transmandibular (transosseous), subperiosteal implants, endodontic stabilizers, intramucosal inserts and endostal (endosseous) implants.
Transmandibular (Transosseous) Implants: This is the most difficult and least preferred type of treatment. Transmandibular therapy is used when there is insufficient bone volume.
Subperiosteal Implants: They are among the most preferred implant types. It is applied by taking measurements over the bone. The type of implant in which the chewing force is distributed to the entire jawbone is in the form of a cage.
Endodontic Stabilizers: The implant method applied to form a solid jaw ensures that the weak teeth become fixed.
Intrhymoid Inserts: This implant is one of the less preferred methods today. It is made out of titanium and is used to increase the retention of the prostheses.
Endostal (Endosseous) Implants: One of the most preferred methods. Usually used in cases where multiple tooth deficiency occurs. The type of implant applied into the jawbone is divided into 3 groups. These; Blade, screw and cylindrical.
